Upcoming MCU Project ‘Thunderbolts’ Now In Development

Variety has confirmed that a film based on the Thunderbolts is now in early development at Marvel Studios. Jake Schreier is on board to direct, with "Black Widow" writer Eric Pearson writing the script. 

The Thunderbolts are a team of Marvel Comic supervillains. While no official cast details have been revealed, the Thunderbolts include characters already present within the MCU, including Yelena Belova, Ghost, Abomination, John Walker and Taskmaker. Considering the films these villains and anti-heroes have appeared in, Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton or Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes could also likely appear.
